Paul McCartney was born on June 18, 1942, in Liverpool, England. He met John Lennon in 1957 and joined Lennon’s skiffle group, The Quarrymen, shortly thereafter. The two quickly bonded over their shared love of music and soon formed a songwriting partnership that would go on to change the world.

In 1960, McCartney, Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr formed The Beatles, which would become the most successful and influential band of the 20th century. During the band’s heyday in the 1960s, McCartney was responsible for writing or co-writing some of their biggest hits, including “Yesterday,” “Hey Jude,” and “Let It Be.”

After The Beatles disbanded in 1970, McCartney embarked on a successful solo career, releasing a string of critically acclaimed albums. His 1973 album “Band on the Run” was a commercial and critical smash, cementing his status as a musical force to be reckoned with.

Over the years, McCartney has continued to push the boundaries of his craft, collaborating with a wide range of artists and experimenting with different genres.
